Mambo Sun
T. Rex Lyrics

Beneath the bebop moon
I want to croon - with you
Beneath the Mambo Sun
I got to be the one - with you.

My life's a shadowless horse
If I can't get across - to you
In the alligator rain
My hearts all pain - for you.

Girl, you're good
And I've got wild knees - for you
On a mountain range
I'm Dr. Strange - for you.

Upon a savage lake
Make no mistake - I love you
I got a powder-keg leg
and my wig's all pooped - for you.

With my hat in my hand
I'm a hungry man - for you
I got stars in my beard
and I feel real weird - for you.

Beneath the bebop moon
I'm howling like a loon - for you.
Beneath the mambo sun
I've got to be the one - for you.

Oh, take me!
Ah, yeah. Ah!
Oh - please - come - oh woah.

Everlasting light by the Black keys may as well be distant cousin to this song. God damn, both are great.

@ValdrousHex At least The Black Keys ripped off many bands. Greta Van Fleet thinks they're Zeppelin Pt. 2. lol GVF is worse.

ValdrousHex

Yeah, they like to rip off T. Rex and The White Stripes. Tom Petty too. They lack originality.

Electric Warrior and The Slider are the perfect pair

bartek1234567890 can’t forget Tanx!

And TANX for perfect triangle

So timeless and yet so underrated, rip the beautiful Marc Bolan

Actually considered one of the first punk bands ever

Relica

One of the nastiest grooves ever laid down on a rock and roll record. White boy had some straight funk. Marc Bolan’s sound is still to be replicated, and nowhere is that more apparent than on tracks like this. That honey-drenched fried guitar tone, so pleasant. Those beautiful, soulfully-alien backing vocals. The whispered vocals, the picturesque, bizarre, mystical lyricism. It’s just as creative and as sublime as rock and roll can get. Sounds ahead of its time in 2020. A sound that could never be replicated, and a massively underrated feat of a record
