The band appeared on the Chilean music scene in 2005, as one of the finalists in the 6th annual National Young Band Festival at the Balmaceda Cultural Center, Santiago. Their first EP (self-titled) was released that year and a self-produced album, Gran Santiago, followed in April 2007. The song "Eras mi persona favorita" became their signature tune.
Attention from the Chilean media increased and they appeared several times on TV and radio. Their second album, Bailar y Llorrar, was released in 2008.
Then, suddenly, in October 2009 they announced that the band was separating, leaving the members to pursue solo projects. Anwandter released work as Odisea and, later, under his own name. Cristóbal Fredes is part of Los Mil Jinetes.
Bailar y Llorar
Teleradio Donoso Lyrics

Salgamos de todo
Plata no tengo
Y sueños tampoco
Salían muy caros
Y nada es gratis
Luz verde en tu boca
Y soy feliz
Aquí en la fábrica
De gente sola
Me siento solo
Y estoy en la cola (para)
Ser un romantico
En una máquina
Queremos besarnos
Sólo nos queda
A veces bailar
A veces bailando
Y en mis sueños
Bailamos el limbo
Bailamos el tango
Bailamos el mambo
Y el fandango
Salgamos de todo
Robemos un banco
Y celebremos
Con sexo en un auto
The song Bailar y Llorar by Teleradio Donoso expresses the desire to break free from reality, to escape the mundanity of life and to dance and cry, even if one does not have the means to fulfill their dreams. The chorus invites us to dance, to forget our problems, and to enjoy the moment. The opening lines allude to the lack of money and the illusion of ambition that we create in our minds, with the phrase “Plata no tengo y sueños tampoco” (I have no money and neither do I have any dreams). The idea of the unassailable cost of dreams is an interesting concept as it considers the unrealistic expectations people often set for themselves whilst still having financial constraints.
The singer feels lonely and lost in modern society and stands in a queue, waiting to become just another soulless cog. The machine is represented as everything that dehumanizes us, reducing us to numbers, quotas, and statistics, stripping us of our individuality. The song’s lyrics suggest that the only way to connect to each other and ourselves is to dance, as it is the only way to express our emotions and to truly let go. The verses that follow describe the various types of dances that the singer and their partner indulged in, not only in their waking hours but also in their dreams- mambo, tango, limbo, and fandango- underscored with the desire to escape the drudgery of the present. The song's closing lines describe a desire to rob a bank, indicative of the desperation some may face in their quest for escapism, accompanied by sexual impulsive behavior, represented by "sexo en un auto." Overall, the song highlights an almost inescapable desire to break free from societal norms and express oneself, even if it's for a few moments.
