Weight of Love
The Black Keys Lyrics
I used to think, darling, you never did nothing
But you were always up to something
Always had a run in, yeah
I got to think those days are coming to get ya
Now no body want to protect ya
They only want to forget ya
You'll be on my mind
Don't give yourself away
To the weight of love
You'll be on your side
Don't give yourself away
The weight of, weight of love
Dance all night cause people they don't wanna be lonely
Never wanna be lonely
They don't wanna be lonely
You have a thing no one could ever be sure of
Never ever had a pure love
And never no cure from
You'll be on my mind
Don't give yourself away
To the weight of love
You'll be on your side
Don't give yourself away
The weight of, weight of love

My best friend passed away and we really loved cranking this song on a hot day after chilling at the lake all day. We always shared admiration for this song and considered it a musical masterpiece. As I was making my way through the 3 mile long line of people (yes I had to wait to see him)..... This song started playing as I entered the room and as I got to the casket the solo was playing. It was the most beautiful way to tell my best friend goodbye. To our favorite song at our favorite part. It’s almost like he told god to put on this fire track. Thank you for making this song so much more special. Can’t wait to rock out in heaven! Rest In Peace bro!

I see your comment is a year old, but still want to reply.
I’m sorry your friend moved on. He’s still with you in spirit, which he made sure you’d know by this song playing at the precise time it did. That’s really beautiful, and it was NO coincidence. God blesses us, let’s us know He cares, and the experience you had let’s you know that too. I truly believe there are no coincidences. You will see your friend again someday, he’s just on another “plane”, gone to heaven, and we’ll transition too when God sees fit. I have lost people too, and have received signs like you did. Once you notice things like this, you’ll look for them and see them even easier. It’s wonderful and reassuring when God sends us proof he loves us and is with us always. Just like your sweet friend is with you always. I send you my love and hugs. May God bless you and all your loved ones!🙏♥️😘
