Love or Let Me Be Lonely
The Friends of Distinction Lyrics

Love me let me be lonely,
Part time love I can find any day.
So don't you defy mother nature's way, please
make it mine, a love for to stay

I can live without love,
If I wanted to in this lonely room.
But I don't want to so I leave it up to you
To wash away my gloom.
I, I can live without love,
If I wanted to in this lonely room.
But I don't want to so I leave it up to you
To wash away my gloom.

Do ooh. Doo, doo, doo, doo, doo doo doo doo.
Either you will or either you won't now.
It's up to you I've had my say.
So truly love, do love me completely.
Hey come on, come on come my way.

I can live without love,
If I wanted to in this lonely room.
But I don't want to so I leave it up to you
To wash away my gloom.
I, I can live without love,
If I wanted to in this lonely room.
But I don't want to so I leave it up to you
To wash away my gloom.

Do ooh. Doo, doo, doo, doo, doo doo doo doo,
Doo, doo, doo doo.

Ooh, yeah. My baby. Ooh ooh ooh yea,
ma, ma, ma, ma, ma, ma, ma, ma, ma, ma,
ma, ma, ma, ma, ma baby!

Love or let me be lonely.
Love, or let me be lonely.
(with ad lib to fade)
Love or let me be lonely
Love, or let me be loney

I’m 20 and I can’t believe how songs like this just blow songs of my generation completely away. The 60’s, 70’s and the 80’s are the best.

Appreciate that...from a 65 year old ex music teacher! Computers put a lot of session musicians out of work. You hear REAL instruments, no computer samples, autotune. You had to have talent and nail it in the recording session. Listen to the brass section in this, they are totally bad asses, so talented probably slept through the entire session lol. and it was NOT about videos, it was about the MUSIC. An entire 3 generation do not listen to the music anymore, they "watch" it. ALthough there is some good stuff today, Videos combined with music in order to sell the song/artist is why they cannot discern the difference between real music and the junk....no patience to actually listen.....they have been musically robbed. This is why I appreciate Indy music without videos.

There's a ton more.
...your generation could have this.
They just need to INSIST on REAL MUSIC.

Arguably the greatest chorus in the history of pop music. That tempo change is EPIC!

Back in early 1970 I was getting ready to come home from Viet Nam.  This song meant a lot to me because I didn't know if the love of my life was going to be there when I got home.  She called my best buddy a week before I arrived to see when I would be home.  I was prepared for the worst but got a nice surprise.  Still together after all these years...the best is yet to come!
