Keep On Pushing
The Impressions Lyrics
Keep on pushing
Keep on pushing
I've got to keep on pushing (mmm-hmm)
I can't stop now
Move up a little higher
Some way, somehow
'Cause I've got my strength
And it don't make sense
Not to keep on pushing
Hallelujah, hallelujah
Keep on pushing
Now maybe some day (mmm-hmm)
I'll reach that higher goal
I know I can make it
With just a little bit of soul
'Cause I've got my strength
And it don't make sense
Not to keep on pushing
Now look-a look (look-a look)
A-look-a yonder
What's that I see
A great big stone wall
Stands there ahead of me
But I've got my pride
And I'll move on aside
And keep on pushing
Hallelujah, hallelujah
Keep on pushing
Keep on pushing, what'd I say
Keep on pushing, well it's all right
Keep on pushing

I was born into my parents poordom meaning they had no vision for their lives and certainly not the children they produced. Because I was inspired by this song, I graduated college with no help from them; worked on a a great job for 25 years; been homeless twice; and now a successful commercial actor all because I kept on pushing.

When our troubles become DEEP SEATED, and LONG STANDING, we may just need to KNEEL.🙏😉

I completely understand. I was just commenting on this very thing on the "We're a Winner" C. Mayfield video. This is the music we listened to during our youth and it inspired us. It's so sad that everything now is about filth, sex and doin' somebody wrong (in some form). No wonder the young ones are lost.
