Love is Good
by The Pretty Things

She was just a lonely girl
But I didn't know if I should try
She was just a lonely girl
But I didn't know just which way she'd fly

Over by the corner now she stands
Cornered by the angels of her many plans

She was just the saddest girl
From that sad old American town
Staring at the empty stage
To see some ego tripping rock 'n' roll band

Over by the corner now she stands
Cornered by the angels of her many plans

[Chorus:]
Love is good love is sweet
Lover hold my hand
Love is good love is sweet
Lover hold my hand

Solo
She was just a lonely girl
But I didn't know if I should try
She was just a lonely girl
But I didn't know just which way she'd fly

[Chorus:]

I also...funny how things all come back with music from that era...moved to a new little country town in western Michigan to go to college at Grand Valley State College...got really into lsd and well ruined my future as a psychologist but really became a PSYCHONAUT of sorts and went on to become a attendant nurse in state mental institutions because I thought I knew what it was to become a schizophrenic_I dont know maybe I am kidding myself but that is what this music does to my brain......

R.I.P. Pete Tolson, Talented guy, a great shame. This is a great song by the way, stills sounds so fresh.

It's amazing how they went from dirty R&B to smart pop, to proto-progressive/psycho-folk rock, and then to ... this undescribably good sound. Kinda like Queen, huh? Long live the Pretties.

incredible music from the futuristic Pretty Things. These guys are phenomenal in the past and are from a different planet, giving us fabulous lyrics and rhythm that set them apart from any other band. Still going strong today thanks to there dedication to real music. There are hardly recognised as a super group but simply are one. Watch out for the Pretties (Old ex members) in 2011 and elofan567 thank you very much for the posting.

Love this!  One of the most under-regarded and underrated bands of their era----along with the likes of: Family, Procol Harum, Strawbs, Argent, Manfred Mann's Earth Band and Spooky Tooth.  Saw the Pretty Things in 2000 and they were fabulous!  And Dick Taylor looked like a Guitar God who happened to look well over 70!

Always with the wind to their face
And never to their back,
Tell me did they ever
make a bad album?

Tom Spinks

Phil May absolutely wonderful on this LP. My favorite is S.F. Sorrow.
