Eos
Ulver Lyrics

The sun is far away
It goes in circles
Someone dies
Someone lives
In pain

It is burning
Into the thin air
Of the nature
Of a culture
On the dark side
Under the moon
The wolves gather

Celestial Aeon Project celtic music & epic music

This tune is like condensed, concentrated sorrow, bottled and turned into sound. Full of fragile beauty

Yeah it actually always makes me depressed but I can't keep my handy from it

The first time I heard this tune I was mesmerized. I had listened to Ulver before Eos of course and already knew what I was playing around with, but still, Eos broke through every barrier in my soul. If I'd have to choose one tune to play in my funeral, it would be this.

I´m very happy with the direction they took after their black metal records.

@A. Murat Eren This is so uplifting.

Suppose I´m living that actual black metal phase you're talking about. Simply put, I can't listen to anything of ''lesser'' quality.

Regarding Goretex, this is so problematic. Whenever I stumble upon a great band, I end up buying the record. This happened when I found Drudkh's, Blood In Our Wells.

This is exactly what I was thinking. It may sound funny to put it this way, but I always found black metal to be a very emotionally intriguing music. The core reason for those dense emotions to emerge change from band to band, yet the salient point is that they are very genuine with their strong statements, which kept me drawn into black metal. I performed black metal for years, and kept listening long after I stopped performing.

Now, in my rather old age, I very much enjoy bands that take different paths after their history in black metal. Ulver is one of them. Another example is Amorphis. I know they would be better classified as melodic / atmospheric death metal, but you know what I mean. Yet another band that makes me feel a lot is Shining (I would suggest you to listen Goretex Weather Report from them, but you must find the album, the videos on YouTube sucks, they are making a very intricate instrumental music that people who can appreciate black metal can get a lot from imho).

Being a fan of Beavis & Butthead, on a hot summer day I told my friend "The sun sucks." To which he replied, "Alright, I have a CD you need to listen to." This music has accompanied some of my lows since.
