The band was created by Maurizio Catania, who was Nidi D’Arac drum player and percussionist from 2004 to 2007.
Their songs are about the Mediterranean Area, and in particular about Sicily, which is an island of strong traditions and contradictions, and they take
us through a journey based on lyrics, sound and rhythm.
Unaddarrè’s main features are its trance rhythms, stringed lyrics full
of visions, multiethnic instruments and ancient voices, which have been perfectly mixed to create the new electro world sound from Sicily.
This project originally started in the year 2000, although it came to life
in 2005. Unaddarrè have been highly appreciated throughout Italy and Europe and they have recorded two albums with Megasound record company: Kalsa (2007) and Aqua Virgo (2008).
These works represent a perfect balance between the world of acoustics
and the one of electronics, thanks to perfectly combining contemporary digital sounds with the traditional Mediterranean and Sicilian musical culture.
