The EP also enlists the violin skills of Tom Alder from David Cronenberg’s Wife and the vocal talent of Sukie Smith from Madam for a duet on the EP's closing song.
Comprising of seven songs, Gods tells the story of modern man set against the tales of Greek Mythology, with each song representing a God. Songs cover man abandoning God and Government for a life of pleasure (Dionysus), the rising of a populace to bring down their government (Nike), man's desire for eternal youth (Hebe), a soldier besotted with war (Enyo) and concludes with a message from beyond via the Goddess Iris (sung by Sukie Smith of Madam).
Musically Gods covers much ground, from the grimey baroque dance of Dionysus to the electro folk of Farewell Song; and from the thumping military funk of War Is A Cold Hearted Mistress to the EP’s ballad finale. Common sounds like the harpsichord and choir thread these seven songs together to make Gods an exciting debut.
