The mixtape features a wide variety of artists, such as Tyler, The Creator, 2 Chainz, and Jay Electronica, as well as fellow rappers Stove God Cooks, Benny the Butcher, Conway the Machine, Mach-Hommy, and many more.
On June 11, Westside Gunn announced on Twitter two official release dates for two albums that would be dropping, the Side-A of the double album and the then-rumored Side-B of the double album, saying:
"Idk who reading this but I’m dropping 2X this year 8/20 & 10/31"
On August 3, Westside Gunn announced on Twitter that the mixtape would officially be a double album, saying quote:
"SINCERELY ADOLF 8/20 DOUBLE ALBUM!!!!!!!!"
On September 2, Westside Gunn revealed on Twitter that Side-B of the mixtape would be set for a September 10 release date, as well as revealed the official cover art. He also mentioned that the mixtape would be having 18 more songs.
"HWH8 SINCERELY ADOLF side B 9/10 I’m not waiting for Halloween… 18 more Songs!!!!!!"
Shortly after the announcements, on September 8, 2021, two days before what was supposed to be the mixtape’s release, Westside Gunn announced that he wouldn’t be dropping the album on September 10, due to an unknown artist hitting up the artist to be apart of the mixtape.
"Somebody just hit me and said I can’t release side B without them so….. I’m waiting on it , so it’s NOT dropping this Fri. Unfortunately BUT Side A so good I NEED y’all to keeping supporting and run those numbers up."
Some people rumored that Drake would be the reason why he delayed the mixtape, as he was rumored to be a feature on the mixtape, however, Westside Gunn cleared up all the rumors, denying that Drake would be on the mixtape, as well as explaining more on why the mixtape did not drop on September 10.
"Not a feature w/Drake I was saying I wanna come out the same day as Drake 😂but then it wasn’t mastered in time so I said this week, but then I got hit by another artist saying they wanna be apart but I’m done explaining myself again I might not b the most popular but I’m the 🐐"
On September 16, a day before what was supposed to be the release of the mixtape, Westside Gunn announced all the features on his Instagram page, as well as announcing that the tape would be delayed to another week.
"SIDE B 9/24
One more Week won’t hurt 🐐"
A day later, Westside Gunn revealed all the producers who will be involved in the tape on his social media accounts. Unlike Side A, where the mixtape was produced by three producers (known as The Heartbreakers), Side B was produced by a wide variety of producers, such as fellow Griselda producers Daringer and Beat Butcha, The Alchemist, Jay Versace, Madlib, and many more.
On September 23, 2021, a day before the mixtape’s official release, Westside Gunn revealed the final tracklist to the mixtape. Like with the previous tracklist announcement for Side A, the tracklist did not reveal the features for each track.
Two singles were released prior to the mixtape’s release. Those being “TV BOY” and “Julia Lang,” although “Julia Lang” would go on to have a different version on the album featuring Trap-A-Holics.
The mixtape features a wide variety of artists, such as Tyler, The Creator, 2 Chainz, and Jay Electronica, as well as fellow rappers Stove God Cooks, Benny the Butcher, Conway the Machine, Mach-Hommy, and many more.
