Yazoo (known as "Yaz" in the U.S.) were an English synthpop duo from Basildon, UK.

Yazoo were formed in early 1982 by former Depeche Mode songwriter Vince Clarke (synthesizers) and English singer Alison Moyet (vocals) and signed to Mute Records in the United Kingdom.

Shortly after the release of the second album, Moyet and Clarke decided to break up. Moyet pursued a solo career while Clarke first founded (the short lived) The Assembly followed by the successful Erasure.

Vince Clarke and Alison Moyet briefly reunited in 2008 and toured Europe and the United States as Yazoo for the first time in twenty-five years. Also in 2008, their record company issued a 4-disc box set called In Your Room; containing remastered editions of both of their original albums, a disc of b-sides and remixes (imaginitively titled B-Sides and Remixes) and a DVD containing promotional videos, interviews etc.

This song represents perfectly the memory of my beloved brother David who killed himself in the begning of this pandemic. 23 years old. That really hurt to read, and rather teary.
Nobody listens to me, but I know what love is, so here is 'a giving'. Maybe, if you ever have the time, and you think that life is precious, try looking up the subject of Cryonics. I did 34 years ago, when somebody I knew was dying, and I was trying to work out how to save her, and as I was signing both of us up, she died.
But she made it. And in those days, I was looked upon as crazy, and still am. But its the only game in town to play. And if you lose, so what. But if you win, you just made the best punt of your life.

@nick kellerman if you knew what words meant then you would know that "all I ever knew" is speaking in past tense. "Can't take no more wonder if you'll understand". It's clearly about a relationship over but one you still have some feelings for.
