The spokesman of the lifestyle of broke ones. His tongue brings the weight to push the sun forward. He is the backdraft of Hip-Hop. The product, the artist, the writer, the actor and Vice President of an independent entertainment company, Casanova Records LLC, located in the Washington, D.C. area, just incase you want to know.
He was born as Yusef Lateef Trowell on March 20, the first day of spring. Native of the District of Columbia, his minds eyes will reveal the lifestyle of the illegal trying to go legal. In his mind, he records and lets his tongue press play. Introduced to the music game at age 14, just like any other young hoodlum, times was hard, so naturally he adapted to this outlet and tried to change his unorthodox habits. Out of the gutter with verbal weapons displaying massive line for line rhyming skills, to snafu any track, his name will be Barocka. They will never see him coming. He is like a one man eatem up, chewem and spitem back out type of emcee. From the underground doing basement revamps with Chucky Thompson,, then moving into the front seat of being over looked when Nonchalant was hot with her gold selling single 5Oclock in the Morning. They say he has a slight back-draft of Hip-Hop within his angry delivery. Other emcees come to mind such as Redman, Busta Rhymes, and Big Daddy Kane when trying to find a common extract of this unsigned hype. After numerous of road trips with Hajee Harrison, Myas father, Barocka got tired of the bullshit. He threw away his microphone. But when the Rox gets rolling, its really hard to stop him from coming. By linking up with a close friend Ed Afonso, the CEO of Casanova Records, it was like finding their place in an equal battle, trying to let the world understand sound. Casanova Records chose him to be one of their extraordinary artists. This is a start of a very beautiful macabre. They never seen them coming, Barocka with Casanova Records is ancient to the future but, yet unborn. In the midst of all, he had three children Hadiya Trowell, Khadir Trowell, and Nhadira Trowell. On Monday December 12th, 2005 Yusef Trowell aka Barocka suffered a massive stroke causing extreme and unrecoverable brain damage. Unfortunately, on Thursday December 15th, 2005 Yusef died from his condition at Georgetown University Medical Center. Though taken from us so soon, his spirit will continue to live on through his music. He was great artist, father and friend and will truly be missed.
