1) dba are Shaz Sparks… Read Full Bio ↴There are several artists using the name DBA.
1) dba are Shaz Sparks on vocals and Robbie Bronnimann on keyboards & programming. dba was started in 1996 out of the breakup of 65 dBA. Their sound is that of techno, trance & dance featuring Shaz's hallmark haunting angelic voice.
Bubble was released by Warner Alliance that same year. Reviews state this was "moving away from overt Christian themes and condensing themselves down to a pure dance-pop duo..."1 Oddly, their official website makes no mention of this 'first' album. Some sites list the band name for this album as 'dBA', derived from dropping the '65' from name of their previous band (note, the case difference to the all lower case used currently). Album credits show it is Robbie and Shaz as the creative force behind it.
Later albums, such as Spectrum, in 2001, and Twister, in 2002, and multiple promotional releases have been done under the dtox http://www.dtox.co.uk label.
Besides working on and releasing their own albums, Robbie and Shaz also remix other artists - such as Chicane, Matt Darey, Howard Jones.2
Their own work has been played by dj's worldwide, both on the radio and in clubs.3

Little Old Me
dBA Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
I wake up in the morning and
I see it's not so bad
It's a beautiful day
Catch the moment, softly spoken
Everythings in slow motion
Create love, create passion
Then I'll walk out with no regrets
Everything seems so small and insignificant
It's all in my hands
It's all in my hands
(Everything seems so small and insignificant)
Just a little old me
Just a little old me...
I'm feeling so excited...
To be Like a little grass hopper
I'm not gonna walk away
Such a simple thing
Take the moment now... oh yeah
Create love, create passion...
Maybe, I could email you
Flashing lights, kind of soothing,
When it gets dark
It's all in my hands...
Just a little old me...
It's up to you...
The lyrics of dBA's song "Little Old Me" explore the feelings of self-empowerment and seizing the day. The song starts with the singer waking up in the morning and realizing that it's a beautiful day, and that everything seems slow and peaceful. The singer then urges the listener to catch the moment and create love and passion. The lyrics indicate that the singer is in control of their life and that everything is in their hands. The refrain "Just a little old me" emphasizes the idea that even though the singer is just an ordinary person, they have the power to make their own destiny.
The second verse of the song continues this theme of self-empowerment, with the singer feeling excited about the possibilities of life. The metaphor of the grasshopper is used to convey a sense of agility and freedom. The singer urges the listener not to walk away from the simple pleasures of life but to seize the moment and create love and passion. The bridge of the song employs imagery of flashing lights to suggest that the singer is thinking about the listener and that they want to connect with them. The song ends with the refrain "It's up to you," indicating that the singer is offering the listener an opportunity to join them on their journey of self-discovery.
Overall, "Little Old Me" is a song about self-empowerment and seizing the day. The lyrics encourage the listener to appreciate the small things in life, create love and passion, and take control of their own destiny.
