He began rapping in 2017 as Lil Yeat, and, after a slew of singles, released his first EP, Deep Blue Strips, in late 2018. In 2019, Yeat would gain further publicity after “Stay Up,” the lead single off his second project and first mixtape, Wake Up Call, received a music video on the popular YouTube channel ELEVATOR.
Smith released Different Creature, a collaborative EP with Dutch producer Clibbo, on July 18, 2019, to positive feedback. Yeat garnered further attention after dropping his second mixtape, I’m So Me, at the conclusion of the year, collaborating with popular producers like Wheezy, Brandon Finessin, and 10Fifty, among others. Yeat continued to gain traction throughout 2020, releasing two EPs meant to hold fans over until Different Creature 2. The project was scrapped as he worked through label issues before becoming independent in 2021.
Fully in control of his output, Yeat began releasing a barrage of music, including twenty-track albums and countless singles. Yeat saw a major jump in support after his song “Sorry Bout That” blew up on TikTok. Subsequent hits like “Money Twerk” and “Get Busy” as well as a shout-out from Drake helped reinforce his newfound success. On August 5, 2021, Yeat released his newest EP, Trëndi.
In late 2021, Yeat would release his most popular album Up 2 Më and then would later drop 2 Älive and its deluxe, 2 Alivë (Geëk Pack)
On September 9th, 2022, Yeat dropped his highly anticipated EP, Lyfë, which had a feature from Lil Uzi Vert and collaborations with producers such as BNYX and collective Working On Dying.
On February 19th, 2023, Yeat posted a tracklist for Lyfë's deluxe version AftërLyfe on his Instagram story. On February 24th, 2023, AftërLyfe was released with a feature from YoungBoy Never Broke Again and more collaborations with BNYX, Working On Dying, dulio and more prominent producers.

I Can Tell
Yeat Lyrics
Yeah, yeah
Backwoods, no scammer, back backwoods
No scammer mmm, mmm, yeah, wait
Check it out, she no use hands
Ayy, Teezr, that goes crazy
High like a plane, yeah
Backwoods, no scammer, yeah
If I could I would, yeah, but
She could not use hands, yeah
Smoking on Gs, yeah, not smoking on no tram
Yeah like treadmill, yeah, wanna come
Find your man, yeah
Thought you could tell, I'm wishing you well
But I fill up a whale
With the drip as you tell
Drop 'bout a pound, yeah, say
You could tell, uh, yeah
That was just wrong, uh, yeah
Blue strips, had deep blue strips, on God
Running, running, running home
I just need to follow it through
Hunnids, hunnids, thumbing through
Big racks on me, I couldn't handle them
New D&G, yeah, it go ruthless
'Bout outta the park, Babe Ruth, bitch
Pop an X pill, turn it up, stupid
If you need cash, I'ma do it
"Chill out, smoke up, don't do it"
I just woke up, made music
I don't want no confusion
I done ran inside holding the semi (yeah)
She be going mad, she go nuts
Counting these fucking blue hunnids
Yeah, 'cause she be mad that I won't love her
You see, you feeling alright
Believe what you see, we aight, yeah
Carats and millions tonight, yeah
Yeah, I'm feeling the vibe, yeah
Doing some right, writing the vibes
Living like
Ice, I paid the price, different prize
Needs a new shine need a new shine
High like a plane, yeah
Backwoods, no scammer, yeah
If I could I would, yeah, but
She could not use hands, yeah
Smoking on Gs, yeah, not smoking on no tram
Yeah like treadmill, yeah, wanna come
Find your man, yeah
