She made a version for this music from the group "The Cure", it was the first time the group licensed a version of one of their songs in Portuguese, and the license was granted by Robert Smith, himself. With the group Penélope, Érika recorded 3 albums, two of them released by Sony Music and one by Som Livre. She was also invited to play a special role in the musical projects "Superfantástico", "Baú do Raul" and "Ploc 80..s", all of them released in CD and DVD by Som Livre. With the group Penélope, Érika Martins toured the whole country and played at the Rock in Rio III Festival. She received indications for several important music awards, such as VMB (MTV Brasil), Multishow (as Best Album and Best Singer), TIM, and Latin Grammy as Best Brazilian Rock Album. With the end of the group, Érika Martins decided to go solo.
