The unit was created with the original members Iida Raura, Horiuchi Marina and Sugisaki Nene in 2009 and it was not affiliated to Sakura Gakuin at the time. It later officially became the third sub unit of Sakura Gakuin, following Twinklestars and BABYMETAL.
Raura, Marina and Nene officially passed Minipati on to the second generation members Mizuno Yui, Kikuchi Moa and Taguchi Hana on July 23, 2011. The unit continued until all the second generation members graduated from Sakura Gakuin in March 2015.
The third generation Minipati was officially announced during Tokyo Idol Festival 2015. The members were Yamaide Aiko, Okazaki Momoko and Hidaka Marin. The group became inactive after Aiko and Momoko graduated from Sakura Gakuin in March 2018.
