He was born in Tokyo, Japan. He graduated from the Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music (Geidai); composition course in faculty of music.
He participated in the acousic fusion band "Carioka", he mainly played electric keyboards(1978 - 1985). He was also best known as composer of the series of "Armored Trooper VOTOMS" and "SPT LAYZNER" music, those are Japanese TV animations. After this, he came to produce the music for Tetsuro Oda as TETSU who had took charge of the vocal of the theme song of VOTOMS. Moreover, some tunes similar to the BGM of VOTOMS and/or LAYZNER were recorded in the Carioka's albums.
Additionally, he wrote many kind of songs for NHK-TV programs for children.
