He is the founder and one of the main composers in the I've Sound circle. He grew up playing music -- his father was a middle school music teacher and Takase learned to play the piano beginning at age 3. In high school, he formed a rock cover band that played songs by artists such as Masayoshi Takanaka (高中正義) and Judas Priest. He additionally taught himself to play pop covers on piano and developed an interest in recording during that time. He failed college entrance exams but continued his band activities, and was later invited to co-found Fuctory Records, an independent record label that published Eurobeat music and other electronic club music. His first professional recordings were released around 1995. His song IF YOU WERE HERE appeared in the first Dance Dance Revolution game in 1998. This was the same year that he co-founded I've Sound. Until about 2005 he was heavily involved with composition and production for I've Sound, and continued to produce songs and albums for the I've Sound singers after they left the group. In recent years he has produced songs for vocalists outside the I've circle (IKU, Ray, Maon Kurosaki (黒崎真音), Masami Okui (奥井雅美), Faylan (飛蘭), and Lia, among others).
