Firing off 2012 with Southbound Festival and The Big Day Out, 44th play a soundscape of indie rock popesque tunes, with wild intense live shows causing some rather influential heads to turn across the country. 44th Sunset have drawn comparisons to Cage the Elephant, Arcade Fire, Nik Cave, Group Love, The Pixies and the Violent Femmes. A broad and worthy range of comparisons from a huge range of musical influences and a genre blasting attitude from songwriter Nik Thompson, result in outstanding tunes underwritten by a calibre of songwriting that belies his age. After spending the last few months crafting songs, 44th have finally honed it down to five killer tracks. They are heading into the renowned Poonshead studio to track and then over to Sydney to mix with JP Fung, with a release date in spring and a national tour planned for the end of this year. 44th Sunset's amazing wild live set and unique mix of tracks, they are one of the most exciting acts punching their way through the illustrious Perth music scene. "Thomson stamped himself as a serious vocalist likely to have a serious impact on the music scene in this country".. review The Metro Sydney '..like Juno meets Mad Max.." Big Day Out '..Performance well beyond their years...Surprisingly beautiful...Incredibly catchy..' Drum Media 2012 - Southbound Festival and The Big Day Out! Shortlisted in the ASA Australian Songwriting Contest - International Category for his song 'The Other Guy'

Caesar
44th Sunset Lyrics
Kiss the fingers of the cash
I'm sure he'll like it
Offer your body and soul
I'm sure he'll try it
It seems to be always a he
I'm sure she likes it
Make sure you take your poison
Make sure you buy it
Kiss the fingers of the cash
I'm sure he'll like it
Offer your body and soul
I'm sure he'll try it
It seems to be a he
I'm sure she likes it
Make sure you take your poison
Make sure you buy it
Because we all say
Caesar!
Slap me awake if I don't
Praise the man like a god
Like you're forced to
Do up your tie
You're a suburban dream through and through
Because you've got the guns
No one can take down you
Make those fools crawl
You're like an emperor!
Because we all say
Caesar!
Slap me awake if I don't
Because we all say
Caesar!
Slap me awake if I don't
Because we all say
Caesar!
Slap me awake if I don't
Because we all say
Caesar!
Slap me awake if I don't
