The band's unique blend of electronic, industrial, metal, and synthpop has brought it some success and a loyal fanbase in the DC/Baltimore/Northern Virginia region as well as in other limited areas in both the United States and Canada; but has also hampered its ability to enter the musical mainstream.
On April 21, 2009, 51 Peg announced via their MySpace page that they had disbanded as a group after having been together for ten years (since 1999).
In March of 2016 51 Peg's singer Jeff Sargent has been flying back to perform shows with the band, they are back together and you can view upcoming show dates on their Facebook profile. https://www.facebook.com//51peg
