Tell It Like It Is
Aaron Neville Lyrics

If you want something to play with
Go and find yourself a toy
Baby, my time is too expensive
And I'm not a little boy

If you are serious
Don't play with my heart, it makes me furious
But if you want me to love you
Then, baby, I will, girl, you know I will

Tell it like it is
Don't be ashamed to let your conscience be your guide
But I know deep down inside of me
I believe you love me, forget your foolish pride

Life is too short to have sorrow
You may be here today and gone tomorrow
You might as well get what you want
So go on and live, baby, go on and live

Tell it like it is
I'm nothing to play with, go and find yourself a toy
But I
Tell it like it is
My time is too expensive
And I'm not your little boy
Mmm, tell it like it is

I’m 31. I feel like as I get older and my understanding of women matures, the music I listen to comes from the older generations because I relate to it more

👍🤩

@Red I only listen to music from the 1840s

Jennifer Nichole

Absolutely!

The love songs particularly seemed more meaningful and had respect. Otis - that's how strong my love is, William Bell - I forgot to be your lover... soul music... literally.

@johnnydelmar im sure you are right Johnny, but the truth is so many artists have been done wrong over many many years by the record labels and crooked agents, i just recently read where Phil Everly of "The Everly Brothers" just got his royalties from a song he wrote and recorded in 1960 (Cathy's Clown) a huge hit in 1961 now it's 2021 and because of b.s.
record labels he's finally seeing justice..it exists in all genre of music, 'Rhythm & Blues', Jazz, Rock, Country etc

Aaron Neville did not see too much money for singing this song.

These so called artists of today can’t sound this good with auto tune

Lol, it has nothing to do with age.I know people that are in their teens & up that listen to & appreciate classic soul & classic rock. That is primarily because it was great music with great artists , that is still played today. Auto tune or not, most of the music today sucks.
