She was was the sister of the composer Engelbert Humperdinck and wrote the libretto of his opera Hänsel and Gretel (in co-operation with her husband Hermann Wette) as well as to his Schneewittchen und Die sieben Geißlein (Snowwhite and the Seven Dwarfs).
Works of hers are contained in the Deutsches Kinderliederbuch (German Childbook) (Perthes, Gotha 1903).
