Pel que fa al nom del grup, Anegats, la veritat...no n'estem molt segurs. Tenim record que una nit vam sortir per Porto Cristo, anàvem “contentets” i vam caure dins Es riuet. També és cert que a una d'aquestes converses on es pretèn arranjar el món, però on tot queda en paraules, algú va dir, “Esteim ben anegats...”.No ho podem afirmar amb certesa, d'això ja fa molts d'anys...ai, tornam vells!
Tornant al fil, l'any 2003, acabats els estudis i nouvinguts a s'illa que ens va veure nèixer, va sorgir la idea de fer una maqueta per recordar els anys joves, una maqueta sense ànim de lucre, per regalar als amics a un preu qualsevol. Per a aquest projecte vam “contractar” a la font d'il·lusió i optimisme que necessitava el grup: en Paco González. En Paco, baixista, era amic d'en Jaume i es coneixien de la universitat. Es “Berro”, com el coneixem dins el grup, va escoltar els temes, li van encantar i no va dubtar a acompanyar a en Pep, en José Juan i en Jaume en aquesta aventura. Així, a l'estiu del 2003 enregistràrem una maqueta a l'estudi Rustic Studios, del productor Dani Ambrojo. I això havia de ser, una maqueta, però...
En Paco, que havia depositat tota confiança i esperança en la seva nova banda, es va proposar fermament fer escoltar la maqueta a alguna discogràfica. Mai no es va donar per vençut, i finalment, va aconseguir el seu propòsit. La discogràfica Blau va accedir i va escoltar els temes...i li van agradar!!! A partir d'aquí tot va anar molt ràpid, massa tal vegada, perquè encara no acabam de creure això que ens està passant. Blau ens donava un espai de temps per fer més temes i reconvertir la maqueta en un disc. No ho vam dubtar: ens hauríem imaginat mai, als 15 anys, que arribaríem a tenir a l'abast l'oportunitat d'editar un disc? Allò era un somni i no ens l'acabàvem de creure.
El nostre primer, i fins aleshores, únic disc compta amb 11 cançons escrites entre els anys 1994 i 2004. Hi col·laboraren en Toni Moragues (flauta) i Jaume Sastre (flaviol i tamborino) i el disc continuà essent produït pel fantàstic Dani Ambrojo. Vam aconseguir vendre més de 1500 discs, i el nostre primer single, “Es missatge és clar”, va sonar a gairebé totes les emisores de l'illa, fins i tot als 40 Principals, la qual cosa no és ni molt menys fàcil. Fins aquí estem més contents de com han anat les coses, però val a dir que sense tots els anegats i anegades que ens escolten, creuen en noltros i ens donen suport, sense ells, no estaríem parlant de res de tot això. Sempre agraïts, sou el pulmó que ens dóna alè, el motor que fa rodar aquest tren que ha partit i no sabem ben bé a on ens durà...
