“Streclectic.” If you had to describe Arak (pronounced A-rock) in one word, it would be just that “streclectic” (street-eclectic). Painting pictures through the usage of extreme wordplay is his claim to fame. Never have Hip Hop heads been exposed to a MC who has been able to transcend so many different genres. Poised to take on the world, “Arak,” invites you to take part in exploring his unique perspective. THIS IS VA’S BEST KEPT SECRET.
Although, Hip-Hop has always been Arak’s first love, he credits a wide variety of artists to his growth. With influences such as Outkast, Nas, Special Ed, Curtis Mayfield, Pearl Jam, Smashing Pumpkins, Nirvana, Capelton, Gregory Isaacs and many others; one can only imagine how unique Arak, the songwriter and artist is. Able to address many different topics, he never feels constrained by the stereotypes of Hip Hop. Arak is known for pushing his own limitations in his never-ending quest to become a more diverse and complete artist.
Born in Norfolk, VA, and raised in various parts of the H.R., Arak has remained true to his roots ensuring that everything he touches has that “7-5” feel. He has released solo projects as well as appeared on a number of albums and compilations.

Arak also released “Pictures of a Story” digitally on iTunes and reverbnation early 2011. In 2009, he and members from various groups in the area joined forces to create a conglomerate of mc’s now known as United Nashions. A bi-product of this union was “It’s All Lyrical,” released in 2010 digitally. Also, in 2009, along with producer/artist “Purple Chrome (Bronx, NY),” he was selected to provide a track for DJ Green Lantern’s (formerly Eminem’s dj) Monster Mash III Mixtape, which was released digitally. Prior to this he linked up with Smokescreen Records (Virginia Beach) to release “Smokescreen Mixtape Vol. 1.” He also blessed the Bash Brothers (Furious, Gest and DJ Mentos (Maryland, California and New York, respectively) debut release “The Axiom” with two tracks. In addition to being released digitally, “The Axiom” was sold in stores as well. Arak has even done promotional tracks for D.J. Jack of Spades and Ronnie Blaze for the Norfolk based hip-hop radio station formerly known as 92.1. He continues to increase his visibility on the VA scene through performing, hosting and appearing at various events and venues, such as Hangar 09, Shaka’s, Sandbar, The Lounge, Manila Bay, Busboys & Poets (Maryland, Washington DC 2013) and the House (formerly known as Virginia House of Comedy).

Always looking for opportunities to develop his craft and invest in the culture, Arak most recently hosted one of the area’s most successful and impactful open mics in the Hampton Roads area with DJ Nado at The Lounge in Virginia Beach from 2012-2013. This open mic rejuvenated the underground movement in the area. Prior to this, Arak co-hosted “Soul Essence Thursday’s” at the House in Virginia Beach in 2011, which was also an open mic showcase for amateur mc’s, singers and poets. Arak continues to offer his abilities as a “Master of Ceremonies” hosting many events in the area including philanthropist events like the “Pretty in Pink Breast Cancer Awareness” and ““Angels in Heaven Charity Event”” fundraiser artist showcases.
