Polish composer of Bulgarian origin, instrumentalist and music producer born in Burgas, Bulgaria. Nominated for the European Talent Award at Soundtrack Cologne in 2010. Grand prize winnerat the 7th annual Berlinale Score Competition and a Berklee World Tour Scholarship recipient. Classical music education at The Karol Lipinski National School Of Music in Lublin and at The Karol Szymanowski Music Academy in Katowice with a specialization in jazz piano, vibraphone, marimba and percussion.
Founder of ID Music Productions company. Creator of TRANSORIENTAL project. He produced singles for the French outfit Mad’House including club remixes for Madonna’s “Like a Prayer” and the Bee Gees “Stayin’ Alive.” His music has been remixed by drum and bass legends Ray Keith (”By the Sea”) and DJ Nookie (”The Rhythm blows my mind”) He has toured and played live at festivals and clubs throughout Europe for the past decade. His ongoing live project, “Improsessions” is inspired by the art of improvisation and is a synthesis of Classical, Jazz, Bulgarian, electronic and film music.
Valkov has been composing and producing film scores for documentaries and short films since 2009. He has worked on projects based in Poland, Germany and Sweden. He also traveled to Los Angeles in 2009 on the invitation of Dolby and was treated to a VIP tour of the main scoring stages and music studios in Hollywood.
His recent scores include the most popular polish tv series in decades, “Belfer” (Canal+) by Łukasz Palkowski, feature film "The Last Family" by Jan P. Matuszyński and sci-fi internet hit series directed by Tomasz Bagiński — “Polish Legends”.
He lives and works in Warsaw.
