It's Christmastime
The holiday season is here

There's no need to be afraid
Don't worry or be scared

At Christmastime, we let in light and we banish shade
During Christmas, we welcome positivity and eliminate negativity

And in our world of plenty we can spread a smile of joy
We have an abundance of resources to share happiness with others

Throw your arms around the world at Christmastime
Spread love and kindness to everyone during the holiday season

But say a prayer, pray for the other ones
Take a moment to think about those less fortunate

At Christmastime, it's hard but when you're having fun
While it's difficult to remember those in need during the holidays, we can still enjoy ourselves

There's a world outside your window
Reminding us that not everyone shares our level of privilege

And it's a world of dread and fear
Many people around the globe live in difficult and even dangerous circumstances

Where the only water flowing is the bitter sting of tears
Some regions suffer from drought, and tears are the only liquid flowing there

And the Christmas bells that ring there
The sounds of celebration and joy may not always be present

Are the clanging chimes of door
Instead, the harsh sounds of poverty and desperation may be the only thing ringing out

Well, tonight thank God it's them instead of you
Gratefulness for our own good fortune

And there won't be snow in Africa this Christmastime
An acknowledgement of the differences in weather around the globe

The greatest gift they'll get this year is life, oh
People in some countries are simply grateful to be alive due to their conditions

Where nothing ever grows, no rain nor rivers flow
Some areas are unable to support plant or animal life due to extreme weather and droughts

Do they know it's Christmastime at all?
Questioning if those in need are aware of the holiday being celebrated in other parts of the world

Here's to you, raise a glass for everyone
Toasting and celebrating all people around the world

Spare a thought this yuletide for the deprived
Remembering those less fortunate during the holiday season

If the table was turned would you survive
Hypothetically considering how we would fare in the same difficult circumstances

Here's to them underneath that burning sun
Recognizing those who are living in harsh climates without many resources

You ain't gotta feel guilt just selfless
Feeling guilty about our own privilege isn't productive, but acting selflessly to help others is

Give a little help to the helpless
Encouraging support for those without access to basic necessities

Feed the world, feed the world, feed the world, feed the world
Advocating for offering assistance to people worldwide

Feed the world, let them know it's Christmastime
Even if others don't celebrate Christmas, we can still spread joy and positivity
