His first piece, "The New Addams Family", was a piece that was cut into several prts, with every part portraying one member of the Addams Family. Being a first it wasn't very good. It was for three trombones and together with his trombone teacher and a fellow trombone student he recorded it. It never made it far since it was buried under heaps of unfinished music.
Benjamin started on his first symphony when he was 14. He completed it two years later. It never got performed to this date and the chances are pretty slim it will ever be, since he won't let anybody do so. Except for the fourth movement, the first symphony wasn't very good: it's movements usually didn't make much sense and were full of dischords.
He continued on composing, creating more music as the months and years passed by, and then finally, when he was 17, he made something he himsels liked too: "The way of the gods". The piece is a story about the gods, more specifically their emotions: anger, happiness and tenderness being most important.Later he remastered it with Apple's Garageband Symphony Orchestra Jam Pack.
An other important piece was "Grand Finale", written for no real purpose besides wanting to make something happy and dramatic. the trombone solos are inspired by Mahler's third symphony, first movement.
