Not satisfied with writing the kind of songs that will remain firmly embedded in your subconscious long after even the most cursory listen, Big Wednesday inject every note with a youthful passion that ensures that you won't just be humming the songs in your head; you'll be frantically tapping on the table as well. After supporting legendary acts Blondie and The Stranglers, M-Channel (Sky Digital channel 475) made a documentary about the band. From this point on things got bigger and better. With one song 'Jack and Mary' appearing on PC Computer Game Trackmania Sunrise as well as another track 'Home' appearing on new Creative Lab MP3 players, Big Wednesday have also had their third EP 'Don't Let Go' digitally released in the UK on I-tunes and Napster through Indie Label 'Skiffle'. It's not hard to see what all the fuss is about either. Don't Let Go eloquently demonstrates just what it is that makes them one of Britain's best up and coming acts; melodic suss, classic song writing and a knack for writing instantly memorable songs make this EP essential listening. Summer 06 has seen things really hotting up for the band. After coming out victorious in a fiercely contested Nokia Battle of the Bands competition, they opened the ENTs 24 Stage at Guilfest, supported Nizlopi on the Main Stage at the Summer Breeze Festival and, although still unsigned, secured a slot at the Carling Reading Festival, playing a storming set in front of a full capacity crowd, further justifying the buzz that surrounds them. Add to this their impending support slots with Cord (Island Records), Lorraine (Columbia), Breed 77 (Albert), and My Luminaries (V2) as well as being invited to play at the extremely exclusive Club NME nights, it's no surprise that Big Wednesday are the band on everyone's lips.

Big Wednesday Lyrics
Do Me No Good Picturing you, bright blue jeans, grass stains and a ring…
Losing Days I've been lying in the windfall Picture postcards piling up …
Stuck in the Kitchen You were funny, we were sorry Boys get lonely waiting for…
