White Christmas
Bing Crosby Lyrics

I'm dreaming of a white Christmas
Just like the ones I used to know
Where the treetops glisten and children listen
To hear sleigh bells in the snow

I'm dreaming of a white Christmas
With every Christmas card I write
May your days be merry and bright
And may all your Christmases be white

I'm dreaming of a white Christmas
Just like the ones I used to know
Where the treetops glisten and children listen
To hear sleigh bells in the snow

I'm dreaming of a white Christmas
With every Christmas card I write
May your days be merry and bright
And may all your Christmases be white

It was in the middle of World War II, and this man thought to himself, "You know what this world needs? A hot new Christmas song."

@Joseph Bonczyk again....this was written three years before the start of world war two. Berlin's only son, Irving Berlin jr., three weeks old, Had died ten years earlier on Christmas day 1928. Many believe that was his motivation for the song.

I could image how a darkest time was is that someone was trying to make it brighter at the time.

Fun fact: Bing Crosby's white christmas is the best selling single of all time.

The Caynuck

Makes sense. Released during war time, and war-stricken families would buy it as well as soldiers (there was always the annual day where soldiers would stop fighting and sing carols), and the song is still well known today. Christmas songs typically sell the most as they become relevant each year.

Best selling single on physical copies, Eg: CDs
So not necessarily the best selling single of all time
