Do You love Me
Brian Poole Lyrics
You broke my heart 'cause I couldn't dance
You didn't even want me around
And now I'm back to let you know I can really shake 'em down
Do you love me?
(I can really move)
Do you love me?
(I'm in the groove)
Now do you love me?
(Do you love me now that I can dance?)
Watch me, now
(Work, work)
Ah,work it out baby
(Work, work)
Well, you're drivin' me crazy
(Work, work)
With just a little bit of soul, now
(Work)
Now I can mash potatoes, I can do the twist
Tell me, baby, do you like it like this?
Tell me
(Tell me)
Tell me
Do you love me?
(I can really move)
Do you love me?
(I'm in the groove)
Now do you love me?
(Do you love me now that I can dance?)
Watch me, now
(Work, work)
Ah,work it out baby
(Work, work)
Well, you're drivin' me crazy
(Work, work)
With just a little bit of soul, now
(Work!)
Now I can mash potatoes, I can do the twist
Tell me, baby, do you like it like this?
Tell me
(Tell me)

+Dassoon Fitz:
Yes, this was a version of a song previously recorded by American group The Coasters. As a matter of fact, the song was also recorded by another UK group (the Dave Clark Five) at the same time as the Brian Poole version.
But... the Brian Poole version is the best of the three, by a wide margin. And the Dave Clark version was the second best.
This often happened with American R&B songs from before and during the British Invasion. Only the bravest and most foolhardy of souls would try to suggest that the Isley Brothers' version of "Twist And Shout" was on the same planet as that by The Beatles.

The Wikipedia article is interesting about this group which originally spelled its oane Tremoloes, not Tremeloes, and went on to have big hits with "Here Comes My Baby" and especially "Silence is Golden." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Tremeloes
