Born in Los Angeles, California and raised in Colorado, Brittin began playing piano at the age of 3 when she started effortlessly sounding out TV show theme songs on a keyboard. She went on to learn the guitar as well as the ukulele, and began singing around age 11 in a school choir. Brittin released her first self-made extended play at the age of 16 called “The Letter” where each song was written as a letter to someone important in her life. All five tracks, along with every song she has released since, were written, recorded, and produced within the walls of her bedroom. After “The Letter” released, she then moved on to release multiple singles, covers, and a second extended play of covers of songs from the 1980s called “Wonderment”. Since releasing her first EP, Brittin has gained over 10 million total Spotify streams. Her most well known track is an acoustic version of Coldplay’s “Yellow” and it has reached over 9 million streams on Spotify alone. She continues to write original music, and believes that music can be a genreless form of art, where each track is its own individual project telling its own unique story. Her ethereal voice along with her heartfelt lyrics bleed through a mixture of heartbreak, nostalgia, melancholy. Now at the age of 19, Brittin has begun writing her first full length album which will once again be recorded and produced within her own home; this time with the help of her good friend and producer, Daniel Lamb. With songs like “The Garden”, sending the comforting message of finding a safe place of peace in the midst of anxiety, and the song “Goodbye” about the pain and heartbreak of having to say goodbye to someone you love, Brittin’s voice and perspective on life lives far beyond her years in its power, emotion, and vulnerability.
