After years of years of drinking water, he finally gave up the clear stuff and started drinking alcohol. Songs followed.
Spoon, Josh Ritter, Ben Folds and The Jayhawks worked their way through a cheap pair of headphones to attentive ears and Calvin tried to imitate and pay homage to what he heard. False sense of accomplishment came next.
After countless hours and countless dollars were put into a bag and mailed to a Canadian pharmacy, an Ep was recorded. Members of the Colorado Symphony Orchestra and former members of the Flobots and Bela Fleck said yes to paid guest appearances and thus Locklear completed production of Watch Them Dance with the help of outstanding Byrds producer Ed Edwards (whom has good hair).
Locally, the Ep has been getting radiocally played from high voltage stations like KTCL 93.3 FM, Alice 105.9 FM and 99.5 FM The Mountain. Radio stations associated with educational institutions like Kansas State, Clemson, Alabama and Iowa have also started broadcasting songs. Calvin will be driving and possibly flying to inexpensive cities in 2009 to support the newly created Watch Them Dance Ep.
