Together they have created an all-star revue that draws on all styles of Americana for inspiration. “Killer” Ray Allison & Daniel "Chicago Slim" Ivankovich, whose musical stylings reflect their lifelong commitment as Blues disciples, lead the band.
CBAS has shared the stage & recorded with a Who's Who of legendary entertainers both domestically and internationally. The band's members have worked alongside hall of fame artists such as Chuck Berry, Eric Clapton, Albert Collins, James Cotton, Bo Diddley, Buddy Guy & Junior Wells, Albert King, Ohio Players, Rolling Stones, Otis Rush, Koko Taylor and Muddy Waters.
“Killer” Ray Allison (Guitar/Vocals): First broke into music during the early 1970's and has been a regular on the international Blues circuit for over four decades, "Killer" Ray has been an integral tour-de-force in bands by James Cotton, Buddy Guy, Koko Taylor, Muddy Waters and Junior Wells. In 1998 and 2000, Ray was nominated for the W. C. Handy Award as an instrumentalist. He's also a featured performer on Eagle Rock Entertainment's 2012 DVD/CD release, "Muddy Waters & The Rolling Stones Live At The Checkerboard Lounge, Chicago 1981."
Daniel Anthony Ivankovich MD (Guitar/Vocals) is an American orthopedic surgeon, humanitarian, media personality and blues musician with the Chicago Blues All-Stars. He is from Chicago, Illinois where he is known for his advocacy on behalf of the under-served in Chicago's inner city via The Bone Squad. He is medical director and co-founder of OnePatient - Global Health Initiative, a non-profit foundation created “to treat patients...who have musculoskeletal health disorders, regardless of their ability to pay.” OnePatient is based in Chicago, Illinois.
All-Star Horns: R&B veteran Johnny Cotton anchors this line-up, featuring some of the country’s top horn players. They've played with and arranged for a virtual Who's Who of R&B/Rock/Soul artists. From legendary performers such as James Cotton, Ohio Players and Johnny Winter, to modern pop stars like Lenny Kravitz, Liquid Soul & Lubraphonic.
