You Know My Name
Chris Cornell Lyrics

If you take a life do you know what you'll give?
Odds are you won't like what it is
When the storm arrives would you be seen with me
By the merciless eyes I've deceived?

I've seen angels fall from blinding heights
But you yourself are nothing so divine
Just next in line

Arm yourself because no one else here will save you
The odds will betray you
And I will replace you
You can't deny the prize it may never fulfill you
It longs to kill you, are you willing to die?
The coldest blood runs through my veins
You know my name

If you come inside things will not be the same
When you return to the night
And if you think you've won you never saw me change
The game that we've all been playing

I've seen this diamond cut through harder men
Than you yourself but if you must pretend
You may meet your end

Arm yourself because no one else here will save you
The odds will betray you
And I will replace you
You can't deny the prize it may never fulfill you
It longs to kill you, are you willing to die?
The coldest blood runs through my veins

Try to hide your hand
Forget how to feel (forget how to feel)
Life is gone with just a spin of the wheel (spin of the wheel)

Arm yourself because no one else here will save you
The odds will betray you
And I will replace you
You can't deny the prize it may never fulfill you
It longs to kill you, are you ready to die?
The coldest blood runs through my veins
You know my name

You know my name
You know my name
You know my name
You know my name
You know my name
You know my name

This is easily the best Bond theme and it’s for so many different reasons. RIP Chris Cornell a truly different artist and it sucks because it seems like a lot of the real artists and performers have issues.

I love Chris so I’m biased as hell but this song is not just an amazing song but an amazing Bond song and that matters so much. To me the best Bond song. It scares me that someone like Chris who is not only one of the best in the world at what he does but also has done it in such a unique way, would still wanna leave this world.

I’m not gonna get into the philosophical details because I’ve done it so many times in my mind but I’m happy he left a huge mark on this world whether it was with Soundgarden, Audioslave, or making the best fucking Bond theme of all time.

It’s sad that in music especially the trendsetters tend to be tortured souls deep within like Chris and Chester. I’ve always said that I think a lot of the truly revolutionary artists of our time have something within that makes them so great and different but also not right too.

Seems like so many of the best artists struggle becuase theyre able to think of things in such a different way but have trouble conforming with what’s normal. Gift and a curse.

I wasn’t a big fan of Craig as Bond, but this was a damn good film! Ranks right up there with the best in the franchise …and that theme song is dope! 👍

Same :)

The perfect Bond theme for this film - it feels muscular, dangerous, tense, and a little bit sad. And feels both fresh and classic at the same time. Perfectly captures the essence of the film, and I honestly think the combination of the pre-credits sequence followed by this is one of the reasons why Casino Royale works so well. It primes you for what's to come.

Chris Cornell was a genius.
