@Liz Spencer I'm huge fan of both Buck and RaSoul. I've been thumbing through my record collection lately as I've taken my 1200s out of storage. Their records are always a cut above the rest.
Leaf, as you know, gave both of those gentlemen a great outlet to showcase their talents. I'd say Leaf is up there with Guidance, Seasons and Svek as my favourite house labels. Svek being more of a European techno-ish collection.
Buck did a record called Munsterland and I used to play it all the time up here in Vancouver. I seemed to be the only one in town who had it. Now that I look at it Rasoul also produced the record.
But of all my house records, this one, even 20 years later, makes me tap my foot and nod my head and want to dance until the wee hours of the morning.
cheers

I remember the getting this hot off the press and I had a gig with Buck, Rasoul & DJ Josh at Jelly's that night. Was glad for once to have a earlier set so I could be first to drop it!

You played his new tune before him? Was he pissed off?

those where the days. I remember dropping it right at home (on 46th ave. (where the party never ended in my big room in the back of our house - those are clues to tell who this really is (not JC) (fake user name obviously)) - and yes Liz, you where there a lot...

@Charlie McBride, thanks for "educating" me about people I've been friends with for 20 years. LOL
WTF are you even talking about? Who said anything to the contrary??
I don't even understand how anything in my post would qualify as" shooting my mouth off about something I didn't know" ANYONE who could get there hands on a copy of this BOMB at that point was dropping it for sure, as it hadn't been released yet at the time of the party to which I was referring. Buck and Rasoul both had one for oblivious reasons. I was simply stating that I had the opportunity to drop it first that night. It's so good it got played at least once more that night... and no one minded. Quite the opposite, in fact!
Also, in addition to being an AWESOME DJ, Buck has produced some killer tracks as well. While he is from the SF Bay Area and rocked the SF scene for a long time, he has actually lived in LA for years now. Next time you shoot your mouth off maybe you should know what you're talking about.
