Monda had writen the song "Chick-A-Boom" for the cartoon, Sabrina and the Groovie Goolies. The song was picked up by Sunflower Records, who came up with the name Daddy Dewdrop and released a full album of joke tunes, including a rewritten "Chick-A-Boom" which interpolated the tune "John Jacob Jingleheimerschmitt" and was retitled "Chick-A-Boom (Don't Ya Jes' Love It)". The tune was a hit in the US, peaking on the Billboard Pop Singles chart at #9 in 1971.[1] A second single, "The March of the White Corpuscles"/"Fox Huntin'", was a flop, and Daddy Dewdrop never released any further recordings.
