When he was 12, he got together with a cousin to record improvisations on guitar and voice with a cassette recorder, which they used as a rehearsal for their performances at family parties.
Once he had settled in Guadalajara and during his time at university, he met with Alfredo Cabello to set up a live act that they christened Los Delorean. It was during this time as a DJ that Daniel took on the alias he still uses today: Dan Solo.
For 3 years, the duo performed live, did remixes and original songs, but the desire to put together a full band that had that electronic sound led them to evolve into their next project.
In 2004, Ponyrex was born with Dan playing synthesizer and becoming the band's co-producer.
While in Ponyrex, Dan joined Los Leslie as bassist with Oby, Kaiser and Alex, with whom he recorded their first album "National Star". He later returns to collaborate with them on bass and keyboards for their second album "Visions" which is about to be released.
In 2009 together with his friends they organize a mix party under the name Mix Le Fun. But the project would continue under that name with the intention of creating their own spaces to perform as DJ's or with their respective musical projects. Later, the experiment became a record label and booking agency for bands such as Technicolor Fabrics, Los Master Plus, Lost Mapaches and Salón Acapulco, among others.
At the end of that year, Dan was invited to collaborate with Technicolor Fabrics, with whom he played with major bands such as Phoenix, Whitest Boy Alive and Passion Pit. Immediately, the musician became a fundamental part in the creation of the songs on the second album "Ideas" as well as complementing the live act on keyboard and guitar.
In 2010, he recorded his first album with Ponyrex with Paco Huidobro (Phobia) and Jason Carmer. During this time Dan had the opportunity to share the stage with bands like She Wants Revenge, Buraka Som Sistema and perform at festivals like Hellow Fet and 72810 with Datarock, Blonde Redhead, Modest Mouse, The Sounds, among others.
And as if that wasn't enough, the native of Chiapas has taken the time to produce for other groups such as Lost Mapaches and 3 Mother Funkers, in addition to the remixes he continues to do for other bands and musicians.
Finally, and with the little time he has left over, little by little he begins to produce, write and mix songs with an electronic/nu-disco cut to give shape to his first solo album, which due to his hard work in the early hours of the morning, he decides to call "Club Insomnio".
In this album, which was released in 2011, he had the collaboration with the voices of Vanessa Zamora, Alfredo Cabello (Ponyrex, Los Master Plus) and Pascale Descazeaux. For his live performances, he formed a backing band made up of Alex (drummer of Polar Dream and Ponyrex), Russel (bassist of Lost Mapaches), Yogi (guitarist of Technicolor F) and Chemín (trumpet player 3 of Mother Funkers) with whom he recently opened for Penguin Prison and MGMT.
