Please Come To Boston
Dave Loggins Lyrics

Please come to Boston for the Springtime
I'm stayin' here with some friends and they've got lots of room
You can sell your paintings on the sidewalk
By a café where I hope to be workin' soon
Please come to Boston
She said "No, would you come home to me?"

And she said, "Hey ramblin' boy now won't cha settle down?"
"Boston ain't your kinda town"
"There ain't no gold and there ain't nobody like me"
"I'm the number one fan of the man from Tennessee"

Please come to Denver with the snowfall
We'll move up into the mountains so far that we can't be found
And throw "I love you" echoes down the canyon
And then lie awake at night till they come back around
Please come to Denver
She said "No, boy, would you come home to me?"

And she said, "Hey ramblin' boy why don't cha settle down?"
"Denver ain't your kinda town"
"There ain't no gold and there ain't nobody like me"
"'Cause I'm the number one fan of the man from Tennessee"

Now this drifter's world goes 'round and 'round
And I doubt that it's ever gonna stop
But of all the dreams I've lost or found
And all that I ain't got
I still need to lean to
Somebody I can sing to

Please come to LA to live forever
California life alone is just too hard to build
I live in a house that looks out over the ocean
And there's some stars that fell from the sky
Livin' up on the hill
Please come to LA
She just said "No, boy, won't you come home to me?"

And she said, "Hey ramblin' boy why don't cha settle down?"
"LA can't be your kinda town"
"There ain't no gold and there ain't nobody like me"
"No, no, I'm the number one fan of the man from Tennessee"

Love the east to west travel...

"And throw "I love you " echoes down the canyon.... And then lie awake at night 'till they come back around"

something like that....

Song captures the Alexander Supertramp in me...

(Since settled down..and very content with life)

Please come to Boston for the Spring time.
I'm stayin' here with some friends,
And they've got lots of room.

And you can sell your paintings on the sidewalk,
By a café, where I hope to be workin' soon.

Please come to Boston. She said, "No.
Would you come home to me?"

And she said, "Hey, Ramblin' Boy!
Now won't you settle down?
Boston ain't your kind of town.

There ain't no gold and
There ain't nobody like me.
I'm the number-one fan
Of the man from Tennessee."

Please come to Denver, with the snow fall.
We'll move up into the mountains, so far
That we can't be found,

And throw 'I-love-you' echoes down the canyon,
And then lie awake at night,
‘Til they come back around.

Please come to Denver. She said, "No.
Boy, would you come home to me?"

And she said, "Hey, Ramblin' Boy!
Why don't you settle down?
Denver ain't your kind of town.

There ain't no gold and
There ain't nobody like me.
'Cause I'm the number-one fan
Of the man from Tennessee."

Now, this drifter's world goes 'round and 'round,
And I doubt that it's ever gonna stop.

But, of all the dreams I've lost or found,
And all that I ain't got, I still need to lean to
Somebody I can sing to.

Please come to L.A. to live forever.
A California life alone is just too hard to build.

I live in a house that looks out over the ocean,
And there's some stars that fell from the sky,
And livin' up on the hill.

Please come to L.A. She just said, "No.
Boy, won't you come home to me?"

And she said, "Hey, Ramblin' Boy!
Why don't you settle down?
L.A. can't be your kind of town.

There ain't no gold and
There ain't nobody like me.
No, no, I'm the number-one fan
Of the man from Tennessee.

I'm the number-one fan
Of the man from Tennessee."

This was a special song for me and my late husband. I sang it to him as he was dying. It has been 4 years today since I lost him. I miss him and this song always makes me cry.

Thank you for sharing so candidly... we all need to remember we ARE connected to each other. And sharing our joy and pain with each other is like no other salve for the pain of feeling alone in this life.
God bless.

Mam'
In my heart's eye...I see you by your husband's side....with love singing ...knowing you were touching His soul...
As a musician...touching souls of our loved ones being used by God at moments n looking back over yrs of singing...a soft smile from those hearts means love was given n received...

Love you for sharing your moment with us...this works needs to be touched by a gentle song

Love you

@Brad Clifton I am so sad to hear of the loss of your mother. I am sure she knew you did your best and that you loved her very much.

your story is absolutely heartbreaking .. I didn't get to be there when my mother died of cancer and I will never forgive myself
