Born in Aguascalientes, Mexico, David grew up listening to a mix of 60’s and 70’s pop music, and first became interested in singing at age nine. By his teens he already listened to classic rock artists like Queen, The Beatles, Led Zeppelin and AC/DC, but in high school discovered indie rock, and became influenced by artists such as The Strokes, Arctic Monkeys, Cage the Elephant, Vampire Weekend and San Cisco. By age 15 he started singing in bands with his friends, and learnt how to play the drums and bass. In late 2016, after recently turning 20 years old and living in Austria, he taught himself to play guitar and recorded his Demo version of “Leslie” in his dorm room (inspired in a long-distance complicated relationship he had at the time) and later uploaded it online in early 2017. After releasing “Leslie (Demo)”, he ended up signing with RATIO Records, and after recording his debut album “Only Fools are Satisfied” in late 2018, he released it in early 2019.

David Vitela Lyrics
I feel so misunderstood,
And the stars up in the sky
Are my only company.
I wish mama never died,
I wish papa never left,
Was I always this alone?
It's been a while since you've been gone,
But after all these years,
You keep appearing in my dreams.
I don't like what I've become,
Nor the choices I have made,
Wonder if I'll ever have the guts...
Let's run away in a bullet train,
Let's find a place to see
The milky way again.
If shooting stars granted wishes
I'd wish for shooting stars
To disappear completely.
We were young, 11, 12,
D'you still remember the day
When we first met?
We were children.
Now you haven't smiled in a long time,
When was it that you resigned
To the life we were promised?
If shooting stars granted wishes
I'd wish for shooting stars
To disappear completely.
After all I've lost
There is no regret
I'm feeling just fine today.
Just fine today.
