De Volanges, a three-head rock combo heavily influenced by underground 80s … Read Full Bio ↴De Volanges, a three-head rock combo heavily influenced by underground 80s music, likes to be labelled as dark romantic under psychedelic tension.
Between 1990 and 1997, de Volanges performed some hundred gigs; They toured Poland three times in 96-97, and delivered a concert at the London Camden Underworld (May 96) as support of Rosetta Stone. In 1997, they opened the Dour Music Festival on the main stage.
In early 2002, Yvan (bass guitar), Renaud (guitar & singer) and Enrico (drums) decided to start again dV after a 4-year split. The band focussed its actvities in and around Brussels. A brand new set of songs was composed in 2003, leading to a self-produced mini CD: ‘Caresses Draw Maps’ … followed by a number of gigs in Belgium.
In December 2005 de Volanges recorded a 9-song album, mixed and arranged by Renzo Gotto. It was released in May 2006 on the independant French label « Str8line Records». This album, named ‘SDSS J090745.0+24507 (the Outcast)’ was presented to the public at the Botanique in Brussels during the Fantastic Night Festival, as a support act to the English band Section 25; The band played in Paris (le Klub) on the occasion of the release of the ‘Movement 1’ compilation (Str8line records), featuring one piece of theirs: « Sweet Times Burn » ; On 24 March 2007, de Volanges was back again in Warsaw as main band of the Old Skull festival, along with other excellent Polish cold-wave and bat-cave bands; de Volanges continues to play regularly. We just need to mention the support act for The Neon Judgement in Leuze, and the Festival “Vision d’une autre industrie” in Villeneuve d’Ascq (France).
A new album is expected for 2008.
