Don's first album Aplomb was recorded with the help of Don's friend Andy Bianchi, who sat in to record the drums and bass guitar while Don lived in New Hampshire.
Don moved to Portland, Maine and while he was finishing his psychology degree at the University Of Southern Maine he started playing in local coffee shops around Portland. Don met (Drummer) Elliot Heeschen and they began a close friendship.
Dead Man's Clothes became a band the fall of 2006 when Don started playing with Drummer Elliot Heeschen, and Bass Player Jake Pike. Elliot had been playing in the band Bluestone for a few years as their drummer, and Jake had been playing in Bluestone the last few months before Bluestone broke up. Elliot was also the drummer for 'Yeah Ok' led by Steve Williams around this time, but they had broken up as well. Looking for new projects, Jake and Elliot joined Don, and after many months of shows in 2007, Charles Brodeur was added to the trio; giving Dead Man's Clothes a more unconventional sound with his homemade synthesizers and effects.
Dead Man's Clothes played together for a few years (almost every show with Portland's Anna's Ghost of which Jake was also the bassist) and put their sound into Dead Man's Clothes's second album Apsis.
After Apsis was released Jake and Charles left the band, Ian Riley started playing bass, and later TJ Metcalfe became the second guitarist. At this time Ian was playing drums with Portland Maine's 'The Desires', and bass for Portland Maine's Clubber Lang but has since left both bands. TJ had been playing with one of his best friends Aly Spaltro (Lady Lamb The Bee Keeper) but they separated and TJ was looking for new projects.
During February 2011, the new Dead Man's Clothes lineup released their third album Ice Is War. They are still playing in Portland, Maine.
