All three members - Lucas (guitar), Dan (bass), and Matt (drums) - bring something unique to the table, and with vocal duties shared by Lucas and Matt, the two's wildly distinct voices and styles provide a contrast which makes for a seriously dynamic and refreshing sound. The influences that shine through the brightest are Jawbreaker (on Lucas's songs) and Superchunk (for Matt's) but with all three members together, one can tell that the band's musical backgrounds go far beyond those two points. The marks of Husker Dü, the Wipers, Toys That Kill, and Sonic Youth (to name just a few) can all be heard in Dead Mechanical's (dare one say) innovative brand of punk.
In the spring of 2007, the band first made impact with "Medium Noise", released on CD by Sex Cells Records (and later issued on LP by Toxic Pop Records in the Fall of 2008). The band kept busy in 2009 as well, with three 7-inch releases. For Cold Feet Records, Dead Mechanical unleashed a split EP with Full of Fancy and followed it up with a self-released single called "Binghamton Calling." They were also featured on the second installment of Traffic Street Records' "Dangerous Intersections" 7-inch series. In the summer of 2010, the band's sophomore full-length, "Addict Rhythms," was released in partnership by Traffic Street and Toxic Pop.
Dead Mechanical's next release will be their contribution to the long running Single Series from Buffalo label Art of the Underground.

Under the Leaves I laughed to myself, so you couldn′t hear Oh, the things…
