When he played his guitar, he felt whole. He didn't feel the coldness around him. He didn't hear his parents fighting. It was just him, his guitar and his music. Just a few weeks ago his mother had bought him an electric guitar - something, he had longed for for years. He hugged her tightly and noticed tears welling up behind her dark sunglasses. He could feel her guilt. He could see her pain. But there was nothing he could do for her. Nothing legal anyways. He could only wait for her to rise up.

And so he did the only thing he could do, now with his shiny new e-guitar: write music.

Normally people associated an e-guitar with rock, with fast beats and loudness. But that was not, what his music was about. His strings were soft, with a metallic ring to it. The feelings he never dared to show, he channeled them all into the electic wavesounds of his guitar. His melodies were as tender as the grass and the wind on a sunny summersday.

He wasn't even in a band. Nop. Not a loner like him. But when he played, he didn't feel alone. He felt happy and... whole.

The coldness around him, that usually felt like an endless, dark ocean - he didn't even feel it, when he was carefully playing each note he had arranged into a mellow melodies caressing the soul. In these moments, he felt weightless, like he was comfortably drifting in water.

One day, everything would be better, he thought to himself, being ingulfed by lightness as he was playing and listening to his own composition. This was something that was as clear to him as the ocean was blue. One day, this would be nothing but a faint memory. One day his mother would rise up and take action. She was strong. She just needed a bit more time. And until then, he'd keep playing his calming sounds. For him, and his mom.
