Spirit Recordings label, Dirty Funker dropped his first bomb after a
his demo caught the sharp ears of the Spirit A & R team, the double a
side "Disco sucks" and "jump 2 it" both tracks gaining heavy rotation
from the likes of Zane Lowe, Pete Tong, Steve Lawler, charged up with
enthusiasm of the first release, DF went back into his underground
bunker and penned the mighty "Future" which blended hop licks,
progressive house grooves and dark tribal poetry in a true "mash up"
style, vinyl sales grew and grew in the pre beatport age of file
sharing downloads and Future went on to shift over 20,000 vinyl sales,
and was Pete Tongs acclaimed "Essential New Tune"
2003 saw the release of Don't Stop" and in 2004 followed by "This Is
Dirty Funker" and sales hit the 12,000 mark, A big Fan of Seattle's
finest Nirvana, DF embarked on a trilogy of remixes kicking off with
"Lithium" followed by "Smells Like Teen Spirit" and "Come As You Are"
international gig offers fly in and Dirty Funker travels to USA,
Russia, Siberia, France, Ibiza via Italy.
Spurned on by the worldwide reaction to the Nirvana remixes, Dirty
Funker hits the studio and takes on the likes of Pink Floyds "Welcome
To The Machine", The Sisters Of Mercy goth classic "Alice", ACDC's
"Back In Black", Metallica's epic "Enter Sandman" and 2 rock Classics
from Led Zeppelin "Immigrant Song"and "Whole Lotta Love", 2008 saw
Coldplay, Pablo Decoder and Australias Sgt Slick get put through the
DF blender!
