Eisley
Eisley is an indie rock band from Tyler, Texas, United States. Eisley originally consisted of four siblings: Sherri DuPree-Bemis, Stacy King (nee Dupree), Chauntelle D’Agostino (nee Dupree), and Weston DuPree -- and their cousin, Garron DuPree. Stacy, Chauntelle, and Weston left the band in 2015, leaving the band as a duo of Sherri and Garron augmented by hired professionals.

The band began as an after-church endeavor when the DuPrees were young. The band was named Moss Eisley, after the Star Wars city Mos Eisley, but for legal reasons the "Moss" was dropped officially when they announced their tour opening for Coldplay. Now they're all grown up and have both headlined and opened for bands such as (but not limited to): Taking Back Sunday, Coldplay, Switchfoot, Snow Patrol, Brand New, Vedera, MUTEMATH, The Myriad, Hot Hot Heat and New Found Glory, and Say Anything, in which Sherri DuPree married lead singer Max Bemis. Featuring ethereal, soaring harmonies and dreamy imagery, Eisley has a sound all their own. They are, however, not without comparison or influence. Their sound echoes to dream pop and artists such as Cocteau Twins or Mazzy Star and to contemporary acts such as Denali.

Telescope Eyes
Eisley Lyrics
Oh, you humor me today
Calling me out to play
With your telescope eyes, metal teeth
I can't be seen with you, you freak
Go cry, go run away
Let your short legs carry you away
With your big dress and your dirty hair
Your pen's waiting for you
Just get far, far away from me
I don't want your disease
[Chorus]
Please don't make me cry
Please don't make me cry
I'm just like you
I know you know
I'm just like you
So leave me alone
Dear Matthew why can't you see
You're just not near enough like me
With your telescope eyes, metal teeth
I can't be seen with you
[Chorus: x4]
Oh, you humor me today

LYRICS:
Oh,
You humor me today,
Calling me out to play,
With your telescope eyes, metal teeth,
I can't be seen with you, you see
Please don't make me cry,
Please don't make me cry,
I'm just like you I know you know,
I'm just like you so leave me alone,
I wonder, why can't you see,
You're just not near enough like me,
With your telescope eyes,
Metal teeth, I, can't be seen with you,
Please don't make me cry,
Please don't make me cry,
I'm just like you I know you know,
I'm just like you so leave me alone,
Please don't make me cry,
Please don't make me cry,
I'm just like you I know you know,
I'm just like you so leave me alone,
Please don't make me cry,
Please don't make me cry,
I'm just like you I know you know,
I'm just like you so leave me alone.
Oh, you humor me today...

I really hate it that any kind of innocence/sensitivity is shunned/mocked (when they'd only do wonders if used with balance /weisley🤭) and the only normal thing is cynicism nowadays (not mere realism and facing our issues and situations; cynicism... and it's not by chance at all, imo, if you're paying attention to the kind of music and news and behaviors that are promoted 24/7, and not only top bottom, as ppl recycle it constantly too by parroting empty or quite nihilistic quotes &falsehoods and things that they heard on tv that cause drama or even long-term problems, you can probably understand).
I almost lost my hope completely in 2018 (hi above user, it's 2022 now but...), due to several things, ranging from finalizing older realizations (about human stupidity and the environmental stuff that we haven't really understood where they'll lead, or we'd do much more regarding them) to just turning 31 and truly thinking about death and feeling time's pressure for the first time.
Let's say I don't recommend it.
Yeah, being sensitive has its downsides when everyone else seems to prefer being a zombie, caring only about selfish goals and partying. Imagine everyone paying attention to their feelings and the whys/world and being alert/vigilant/aware and proactive. Then no one would have to worry too much and slowly(or quickly, depends on how reasonable you try to be and what you got to endure on a personal lvl) end up lose their hope, ending up cynical like a 80 year old who's been hated all their life.
Oh well, had to post another wall of text about this topic, sorry if it's too much😅
p.s. bands like Eisley are precious for they carry the sound of innocence and deep feeling+beauty (without much of the girliness imo), and I don't think there are many, especially of this lvl of innocence. Hence this band is actually my favorite (together with Thrice tbh, I can't choose), but don't tell anyone :|
