Born in West Point, New York, Evan's family soon moved to North Carolina where he spent his youth playing drums in the high school marching band, and playing guitar in a few talent shows. At college in Greensboro, Evan got serious about writing original songs and ended up writing and singing with Ben Folds in a band called Majosha. Majosha released an album, "Shut Up And Listen To Majosha", and began playing many live shows.
After Majosha disbanded, Evan formed a new band with Majosha Drummer Eddie Walker, Britt Uzzell (aka Snuzz) and Ben Folds' younger brother, Chuck (see Chuck Folds Five and Big Bang Boom). The band was called BUS STOP. Evan's new band played everywhere they could from Boston to Clear Water, FL. Their music was heard in the TV shows "Melrose Place," "Baywatch," and "Homicide". After four self-produced CDs (with two albums licensed and released in Japan) and over 1,000 live shows with Bus Stop, Evan left that band to begin his solo career. Over the years he has contributed songs to various movies and television programs. In 2020, there was a slight resurgence in his career due to his song "So Much Better" being featured on an episode of the Reply All podcast.
Since 1999 Evan has recorded nine solo CDs:
One Room (Universal, 1999)
Olson (LoveCat, 2000)
All You Desire (2001)
Red (LoveCat, 2002)
Club Evos (LoveCat, 2003)
Audio (LoveCat, 2004)
Take the World (LoveCat, 2005)
All the Way (as Able to Fly; LoveCat, 2006)
Eternal Bliss (Explosive Entertainment, 2012)

on So Much Better
[Verse]
Long before I had you in my dreams
You came and captured my imagination
Though some things are never what they seem
I never have to worry 'cause I know you are
Better than the Venus de Milo in a G-string
Better than a promise of a good one-night fling
Better than a big book of Bettie Page pictures
Even if it came with a year's subscription
Better than a ticket to a Holyfield ringside
Better than a daughter of a sultan for a bride
Better than the cherry on a whipped-cream sundae
Better than a week that'll never have a Monday
[Chorus]
Share your love with me tonight
I wanna feel that love
[Verse]
Long before I looked into your eyes
I saw a million stars start flashing
Even though sometimes I wonder why
I never have to worry what you are
You're better than a bagful of Benjamin Franklins
Better than the keys to a brand-new Lincoln
Better than the winnings of a New York lotto
Even if it came with a new house and an auto
And you're better than a year on a paid vacation
Better than a brand-new-year celebration
Better than a day full of Seinfeld humor
And you're better than hearing a celebrity rumor
[Chorus]
Share your love with me tonight
I wanna feel that love
[Guitar solo]
[Chorus]
Share your love with me tonight
I wanna feel that love
Share your love with me tonight
