Collapsing New People
Fad Gadget Lyrics

Faded - collapsing new people
Watch them - collapsing
Jaded - collapsing new people
Watch them - collapsing

Stay awake all night
But never see the stars
And sleep all day
On a chain link bed of nails

Faded - collapsing new people
Watch them - collapsing
Dated - collapsing new people
Watch them - collapsing

Steer clear of the sun
Pancake, sandpaper skin
They have no reflections
Drink blood but pierce no veins

Hated...

Exaggerate the scar tissue
Wounds that never heal
Takes hours of preparations
To get that wasted look

Hated - collapsing new people
Watch them - collapsing
Wasted - collapsing new people
Watch them - collapsing

Fated - collapsing new people
Watch them - collapsing

Dated - collapsing new people
Watch them, collapsing

Frank's performances were always incredibly polarizing - the tarred and feathered look really took it up a notch. This song, with industrial percussion courtesy of Einstürzende Neubauten, and it's biting lyrics remain one of the true highlights of the 80's underground music. Thanks for providing the higher quality audio - I wish I could find the original video footage to see all the detail. RIP Frank Tovey - like the smearing of tar and feathers, you left a truly indelible mark on music!!

Frank Tovey was hugely underrated! May he continue to rest in peace.

MsAudities

absolutely - he was a synth god

Man, I miss rolling up to the club on my motorcycle dressed like a freak, finding a freak and dancing like a freak.

Use to listen to this song over and over back in the day. Even had the first few seconds like maybe up to a minute of it on my answering machine :-)

CL

What a great answering machine choice! I miss specifically listening for music or snippets of sound that would be good for that. Thank you for spurring some good memories. :)

You like it because of it's genius songwriting and you have good taste in music, man! Count yourself lucky!

I wish everytime I say "Collapsing New People" someone hits some bottles in a good series of notes
