They were close companions in high school and shared a passion for music together. The trio promoted their music online and began performing at local clubs and events in Los Angeles; soon, they began their musical career with the name "Emcee's Anonymous" by 2001. However, they later changed it to Far East Movement or FM, originating from a song that they produced with the same name. Far East Movement Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
When we drink, we do it right gettin' slizard
Sippin' sizzurp in my ride (in my ride) like Three 6
Now I'm feelin' so fly like a G6
Like a G6, like a G6
Now I'm feelin' so fly like a G6
Like a G6, like a G6
Now I'm feelin' so fly like a G6
Gimme that Moët ('et)
Gimme that Crystal ('stal)
Ladies love my style, at my table gettin' wild
Get them bottles poppin', we get that drip and that drop
Now, now, give me two more bottles 'cause you know it don't stop
(808)
Hell yeah
Drink it up, drink-drink it up
When sober girls around me, they be actin' like they drunk
They be actin' like they drunk, actin'-actin' like they drunk
When sober girls around me they be actin' like they drunk
Poppin' bottles in the ice, like a blizzard
When we drink, we do it right gettin' slizard
Sippin' sizzurp in my ride (in my ride) like Three 6
Now I'm feelin' so fly like a G6
Like a G6, like a G6
Now I'm feelin' so fly like a G6
Like a G6, like a G6
Now I'm feelin' so fly like a G6
Sippin' on, sippin' on sizz', I'ma ma-make it fizz
Girl, I keep it gangster, poppin' bottles at the crib (crib)
This is how we live, every single night
Take that bottle to the head, and let me see you fly
(808)
Hell yeah
Drink it up, drink-drink it up
When sober girls around me, they be actin' like they drunk
They be actin' like they drunk, actin'-actin' like they drunk
When sober girls around me they be actin' like they drunk
Poppin' bottles in the ice, like a blizzard

Like a G6, like a G6
Now I'm feelin' so fly like a G6
Like a G6, like a G6
Now I'm feelin' so fly like a G6
Yeah, it's that 808 bump, make you put yo' hands up
Make you put yo' hands up, put yo', put yo' hands up
(You can't touch this)
It's that 808 bump, make you put yo' hands up
Make you put yo' hands up, put yo', put yo' hands up

The lyrics to Far East Movement's Like A G6 describe going out and partying with friends, popping bottles of expensive champagne and sipping on "sizzurp" in a car. The chorus emphasizes feeling "fly like a G6," referring to the Gulfstream G650 private jet. This is a symbol of power and success in the entertainment industry, with the implication that the partygoers are living a lavish lifestyle. The verse about sober girls acting drunk may be a commentary on the party culture, suggesting that even those who choose to abstain from drinking may feel the pressure to appear intoxicated to fit in.
The song's emphasis on drinking, partying, and material wealth is common in many popular hip-hop and rap songs. It portrays the lifestyle and image of the artists as glamorous and enviable, but also perpetuates the idea that excessive drinking and partying is cool and desirable. The verse about sober girls is also somewhat controversial, as it suggests that people who choose not to drink are not as fun or interesting to be around.
Overall, Like A G6 showcases Far East Movement's upbeat and energetic style, with a catchy hook that's easy to sing along to. The song's use of the term "G6" has become a popular cultural reference, and it continues to be a staple at parties and clubs around the world.
