Waiting For A Train
Flash and the Pan Lyrics

Wonder why it's getting cold at night
I must be getting old
Looks like I'm gonna have to wait a while
What the hell, I'm bored
What's that there on the railway line
Looks like my old brown shoe
It ain't mine mister, how's that for laughs
Not even how do you do

Wonder what's cooking at the house tonight
Stew and beans
Tune that station, turn that dial
Have another dream
Ain't it stupid how some people stare
Not even how do you do
What's that mister - na na na
I'm just the same as you

Chorus:
Running down the main line
Shaking off the pain
Heading for a bright time
Waiting for a train

Who's that guy, I've seen his face before
Where or when
Must be another face from Suzie's bar
It was different then
Ain't no way that I can fix this up
I've really lost the place
What's that mister, yeah yeah
I hope they fix you face

1. She says you don't make it
2. She said you don't care
3. She said she's unhappy
4. That you're never there
5. She give you the option
6. You sink or you drown
7. Well what's it to be Jo

(chorus)

I call my mom in Sweden (I'm in the USA) every day to talk to her and sometimes I play music to her from youtube and it perks her right up. She likes a lot of my music so it's not hard to find something to play. Well, some six months ago, I had an idea. I realized I have an MP3 player I'm not using and it's super simple to use which kinda was a requirement for my mom being able to use it. So, I filled it up with music from my collection and of course from here and sent her 1250 songs :)

Now she's in the assisted living home (85 years old) and jamming it out to some awesome music and yes, this one is in there.

I wound up here looking for this song to tell someone about Flash and The Pan after seeing a Flash and The Pan meme (nothing to do with the band) and telling the person there was a group with that name.

Also, ever since I put those songs on the mp3 player for my mom, I've been listening to them in VLC while messing around on the computer.

Ah, miss the good ol' days and again, thanks for putting this up here :)

The sound in this song is awesome. A bit like Hey Nineteen by Steely Dan, Garden Party by Mezzoforte and a few other songs with great quality sound.

I remember recording this from John Peel’s show! That guy was a legend. I tuned in every week. Great times! ❤️
Who remembers setting up the pause button on your tape recorder? 😜

One of the greatest records of all time. This should be compulsory listening in schools to show how great life could be if people listened more
