Drop the Game
Flume Lyrics

Give me things that I wanted to know
Tell me thing that you've done
I've been feeling old, I've been feeling cold
You're the heat that I know
Listen, you are my sun
Hush, I said there's more to life than rush
Not gonna leave this place with us
Drop the game, it's not enough
Hush, I said there's more to life than rush
Not gonna leave this place with us
Drop the game, it's not enough
I've been seeing all, I've been seeing your soul
Give me things that I wanted to know
Tell me thing that you've done
I've been feeling old, I've been feeling cold
You're the heat that I know
Listen, you are my sun
I've been seeing all, I've been seeing your soul
Give me things that I wanted to know
Tell me thing that you've done
I've been feeling old, I've been feeling cold
You're the heat that I know
Listen, you are my sun
I've been seeing all, I've been seeing your soul
Give me things that I wanted to know
Tell me thing that you've done
I've been feeling old, I've been feeling cold
You're the heat that I know
Listen, you are my sun (things that you have done)
The lyrics to Flume's song, "Drop the Game," capture the essence of two people desperately seeking each other's reassurance in a cold, lonely world. The first verse shows how the singer is intrigued by the other person, wanting to know everything about them, especially what they have done in life. The second verse highlights how the singer feels old and cold, but the other person is their warmth and light.
The chorus conveys the message that life is not just about rushing through it, and we need to drop the facade and stop playing games. It's not enough to just pretend everything is okay and rush through life. The repetition of the chorus highlights the message's importance, emphasizing that we need to stop pretending and appreciate the present.
In conclusion, "Drop the Game," is a poignant reminder to drop all pretenses and to appreciate the present rather than rush through life. It's a plea to stop playing games with ourselves and others, and instead, be truthful, honest, and appreciate our surroundings.
